Learn How to Sit

In the five years since I founded Patient PT I’ve developed a unique approach to treating chronic pain – finding the “bad habits” of movement and stillness that are the root cause of most long-lasting pain, and teaching people the specifics of how to train both their brain and body to stop those habits for a lifetime. This approach is so helpful and universal I have long wanted to teach my methods as a class – and I’m ready to do it! I’m proud to announce that on March 1 at 11 AM and 3 PM, I’ll be teaching HEAL 101: How to Sit!

Why How to Sit? Our modern lives inevitably involve a LOT of sitting – at our desks, in our cars, on public transit, in waiting rooms… we all sit, but how many of us know HOW to sit? Headache, hip ache, plantar fasciitis, stiff neck, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, arthritis, sway back posture and anterior pelvic tilt can ALL be linked to poor habits of sitting, and if you’ve ever wondered if something hurts because of the way you sit or the kind of chair you have – you’re probably right! Our bodies were not made to sit still for long periods of time, but that doesn’t mean that the only answer is to work out all the time or rely on pain pills to get through our days. We may just need to learn how to sit in a way that doesn’t make aches and pains inevitable… and trust me, there are plenty of ways to sit wrong!

This two-hour class will include lecture, lab, and a handout to take home. This class is intended for students, office workers, retired folks, and even athletes who can’t seem to sit still without some ache or pain cropping up. If you’d like to register, great news! You can sign up and pay the $75 registration fee at the same time right here. Yes, that’s right – you get two hours of learning plus handouts and in-person feedback for a savings of $50 over a single follow up visit at Patient PT! Register now, space is limited!
